updates on the Neil Gaiman/David Mack prints!

Hello all, a little update on the new DAVID MACK/NEIL GAIMAN print shipments.

We had pre-postaged/packed many of the tubes and now we are putting the prints in the tubes.

We had to hand-number, hand-stamp 4000 pieces-- they should all be at the post office by Monday morning Dec 14th. For orders made after the 15th Dec, we can't be sure that packages will arrive by Christmas, we shall try, but can't guarantee.

If you have been following our Facebook page, or our twitter page you have seen many of the photos from Neil's visit here in LA.

*whew-- a whirlwind! I even got him in front of the Breaking Bad RV which is parked on the Sony lot...

You will also have seen that I asked Neil to sneak sign a small amount of the DREAM prints and have slid them into the pile. You may just get one in your order.

The print bundles will separate on Monday at midnight PST, meaning no longer will you be able to buy one at 28$ and get the second for only $10 more dollars-

the Dream will become $28 and the Wish will become $38, so that's a nice savings if you want both... click on this to get to the WISH/DREAM prints!

thanks so much for your support- your moneys have gone on to fund protecting the lions and tigers of our planet via BLACKJAGUARWHITETIGERand freedom of speech via Comic Book Legal Defense Fund! also furthering the careers of artists via Gaiman Foundation.

we are so grateful for you!

in the name of HOPE...

I almost forgot how to blog...been out on the road too long.

Today is a glorious day in the name of hope and love, #SCOTUS did a good good thing. Amazing, really. I am such a huge rambling fan of love in all its forms, I can't imagine being denied the luxury of shouting it to the world.

Plus it is miss Holly Gaiman's birthday and my own sweet Husband's as well!

A few weeks back, while I was in Europe on tour with the Black Keys, Neilhimself sent me a drawing that that clever linesman Chris Riddell came up with. I sat down to take it in fully and felt a little diamond tear form.

"A world in which there are monsters, and ghosts, and things that want to steal your heart is a world in which there are angels, and dreams, and a world in which there is hope." -Neil Gaiman

Chris generously agreed to come up with a version painted in jewel tones, finishing the hope in pure gold. I couldn't be happier with the finished product.

Have you seen his work on the UK versions of Neil's GRAVEYARD BOOK & FORTUNATELY, THE MILK? He's a magician with a keen eye for the curvy humor of life. Plus he was just this June appointed the UK Children's Laureate..!

We are so honored, grateful and lucky to be collaborating with Chris.

I have sent the files to my printer here in Hollywood, who promises to do a brilliant job.

The prints will be 11" x 17" on a buttery creamy velvet stock and I am offering it at $25 for this June weekend. My printer says we should have them in about 8-10 business days, so please be aware this is a pre-sale. I will get them out as quickly as possible.

These prints will be sold unsigned. A limited edition run of 1500.

you can order it by CLICKING HERE.

I will put the price up to $38.00 on Monday morning.

They will come to you in a super-sturdy tube made of recycled cardboard, which you can spray-paint silver and use as a robot arm.

for more magic from Mr. Riddell, please visit: http://www.chrisriddell.co.uk or click HERE.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Gaiman Foundation and The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Thank you for your support, loves, as always.

Neil's text this morning...

Hello all,

happy after-hearts day.

I got a text from Neil this morning, updating me about the Heartbreak Hotel show last night in Tampa. Apparently, they sold OUT of all the signed versions of the show print- which is great news-- He was also happy with the rich, matte stock of the print...*o yay!

You can still get this unsigned P. Craig Russell beauty HERE and in the last blog post, there is a $5 off code to use at check out, so you can save yourself some chocolate moneys.

WISH prints are ALL out in the world.

ALL of the Wish prints have shipped and there are only a few late-last minute orders that will be arriving after tomorrow.

If you haven't seen yours, PLEASE let me know-- we really tried.

Things do go missing, though and we will help track down. We had one print reported damaged by postal devices and we already got him his new print, so there is customer service over here.

(yeah, that's right, it's ME. haha.) We worked around the clock for 10 days straight, embossing and hand-numbering each one, and the post office runs, they were stuff of legend...

Thank you for the amazing turnout on this print, The Gaiman Foundation will be getting a healthy check and the world will see a glimmer of hope in these sometimes dark, difficult times.

neverwear@gaiman.net ps. we only have a few prints in this run left, the response to this David Mack effort was unbelievable! totally grateful to you all.

If you still want one, get it HERE.

May your coming year

be filled with magic

and dreams

and good madness.

I hope you read

some fine books

and kiss someone who

thinks you are wonderful.

and don't forget

to make some art-

write or draw

or build or sing

or live

as only you can.

And I hope,

somewhere,

in the next year,

you surprise yourself.

two diamonds in one day, I'm getting ahead of myself for once...

Julia Grace was the first to respond and she won item #38- the free TRUE BLOOD books.

we are in the treehouse now, happily embossing and rolling the I WILL WRITE IN WORDS OF FIRE Valentine prints with the glorious David Mack artwork and I drew the name of the winner just now.

A signed print will go to Miss Monica Rocha- a longtime Neverwear supporter.

I was happy to see her name in my little paw, she's been with us since the beginning of Neverwear.

Monica will get her choice of ANY of the prints in stock that Neil has already signed, OR she can wait and get her FIRE print signed by @Neilhimself when next I see our traveling author, maybe another month or so.

Monica, please let me know your choice: neverwear@gaiman.net

Thanks for all the support on this print, happy to be able write a nice check for the Gaiman Foundation, which you can(& should) follow on twitter HERE.

I will see Mister David Mack soon, and have him sign some of these beautiful new prints, it is a really different look, so much bigger and clearer, easier to read Neil's love letter that was etched on the skin of @Burtzor-

In related news, here is another beautiful tattoo of Neil's words, on the fair skin of Kate H, work done by Taylor Anne of Mystic Owl Tattoo.

tomorrow's diamond will be a cool ass collection of guitar picks...

item #26: NEIL GAIMAN doodle day submission

Still sick in the treehouse, but on the mend.

For the last several years, Neil Gaiman has donated a doodle or two to Gillian Anderson (aka X-Files' Scully) charity auction for the Neurofibromatosis Network.

I have blogged about it every year, and I have also participated. It's so much fun!

I had Neil doodle inside one of our tour book itineraries from last summer's grueling OCEAN AT THE END OF THE LANE tour.

He also signed the cover.

For my donation, I made one of my "glass candy bar" magnets from Sandman, issue #73, out in Dec. 1995. Death as drawn by the mighty Michael Zulli. When Neil was just here last week I asked him to sign it for me, to up the value. It's a beauty!

So these two items will be going up for auction in May of this year, I will keep you posted. These count as Swallowing Diamonds items, because they are leaving the house!

I will be bidding on Barbara Eden's i-dream-of-Jeannie bottle sketch. I want that one!

there are things from Stan Lee, Malcolm McDowell, The Walking Dead cast, and of course, that dreamy David Duchovny ("why don't you love me, David Duchovny..")

here is a video of Neil, Benedict Cumberbatch and Gillian at Letters Live doing some auctioning- Nick Cave was also there that night, WHY was i not??

Alert!! TWO HOURS LEFT ON THE AMERICAN GODS NEIL HOUSE ON THE ROCK PACK. click here to see about winning.

winner of item #24: miss Helen Hedberg, for her tiger-themed music suggestion. Nicely done!

LATE! four items for my Swallowing Diamonds project, 22-25.

Neil was in town this week, so great to see that bearded wonder. However, I was derailed by work and sick so am behind on the one-thing-a-day out of the treehouse project i have engaged with myself to do aka SWALLOWING DIAMONDS.

here is Neil reading his beautiful collection of COMIX BOOK from Mr. Denis Kitchen of Kitchen Sink Books, back in action under the Dark Horse roof.

item #22:

the item #21: the glass kitty cat must not have been found by a swallowing diamonds reader, because no one sent in a photo, so I am giving the GOLDFISH POOL print by David Mack to faithful twitterer @Mattncoley who has been my cheerleader for awhile. He (they) have encouraged me in the project and spread the word. i call it karma- enjoy, Matt n' Nicole w/my thanks!

#23:

another one of the Neil Gaiman quote mugs is back on ebay: CLICK here, it's got ONE MORE DAY.

comes with 4 Chinese New Year chocolate dragon coins...go and bid, right now, it's only a measly 5 bucks.

#24:

FREE! this lovely musical tribute to Neil: with tracks by Ego Likeness, Tori Amos and that hotty Voltaire. just put in the comments, some new (or old) music you are listening to, that i might like.

I really need some new music.

#25: a two part GODSMACK tour swag package over on EBAY, click here.

My first tour was the mighty Boston-based Godsmack on a bill with the Deftones back in 2001.

We were out on 9/11 and that brought about the end of our tour.

Am putting up for auction a two-pack of embroidered goodness: 1. a tour swag shoulder bag with about a zillion pockets, never used.

2. a Dickies-brand work jacket with two pockets and two lovely embroidered logos, this one was from the 2006 tour Godsmack/Rob Zombie. it is a size small, and I wore it proudly.

Sully! What a sweetheart. I believe in a voice like that. One of my favorite tours, and in fact, the tour I met my beloved roadie husband and dear friend Red.

i'll throw in an old pass and setlist if i can find...

this auction is only available in the States, because it's going be a heavy send. starts at 99 cents, as all my auctions will.

(sorry the photos look so crappy, i need to learn to photograph clothing items)

as always, thanks for playing.

item #21: TREASURE HUNT IN LA! (plus David Mack!)

Item #21 is a two parter.

hidden (in plain sight) in the courtyard of the CoffeeBean in the 90027 zip, is this glass kitty cat.

Free to any human that finds it.

note: actual cats NOT included.

this cat with a goldfish in his/her belly is very heavy & quite beautiful. The treehouse is just no longer the right home for him/her, so go and find!

if someone reading this DOES finds it, and sends me a photo of it, I will send this person a free signed-by-David-Mack limited edition print of Neil's brilliant coming-to-Hollywood story GOLDFISH POOL.

If you haven't read it, it is in the SMOKE & MIRRORS collection of short stories, and one of my favorite Neil Gaiman tales, ever.

here is a photo of David signing the prints for me.

here is David at ComicCon this last summer, what a cool cat he is.

to find out more about this limited edition print, CLICK HERE. We've got them signed by Neil as well.

having fun with the Swallowing Diamonds project, stay tuned for more action. Going to NYC next week and will be hiding things there too-- **Tomorrow will be some Boston-based tour swag.

item #20: HOUSE ON THE ROCK mementos

2010 was such a year of magic.

first, i toured with Lady Gaga & made some lifelong friends.

while on that tour, i planned our wedding.

Me n' my still-dream guy got married on the water in Baltimore (Charm City, hon!) while he was touring with Roger Waters' THE WALL.

our honeymoon was a trip to New York to see one of my favorite albums of all time come alive on stage, as Drew had to return to his tour.

then we went to HOUSE ON THE ROCK in Wisconsin for the 10th anniversary of Neil Gaiman's AMERICAN GODS. Costumes, everywhere! and the venue was everything I could have imagined and more.

then Neil turned 50 and we threw a giant SUPERFUN party for the boss. down in New Orleans, we even stayed in a haunted hotel.

then Neil got fake-married on the street to AFP (she was a gorg statue!) here is my video on you tube:

here are a few mementos from that time at HOTR:

* bookmark commemorating the event

* signed by Neil HOTR notepad

* pen from HOTR that Neil used to sign the HOTR notepad

*AMERICAN GODS sticker by actual Viking: Jouni Koponen

*Neverwear lucky writing pen

CLICK FOR THE EBAY LINK HERE.

the proceeds from this auction will go to benefit our tiger friends at VALLEY OF THE KINGS, in Wisconsin.

I am going to phase out posting these anywhere but the Swalllowing Diamonds journal in a couple days- time for a new Neil mailbox and more things on the other spots. thanks for following-

and ps: the winner for yesterday's Japanese contest was "stephanie" from the comments over there-

wait--what!? FREE posters? #ThePrice

Christopher Salmon is working on a beautiful animated adaptation of Neil Gaiman's short story, The Price. We did a successful Kickstarter program and Christopher details in the latest production blog, (see HERE) some of the set-backs he has been facing, but ends with a great inspiration that he gets from JAWS--"gonna need a bigger boat..." Christopher and I went to Neil's spooky mansion last October to do a little filming on the project, so that the scenics would be accurate. We lucked out on production value with a crane and I got some shots of Christopher way up high, overlooking Neil's house. Looking at the latest from Mr. Salmon's mind,(@Xtopher on twitter) you can see how spot-on the house looks.

frosting, an award & a roadie wedding.

this year has been full of travel. A couple of weeks ago, Drew & I travelled to Neil's for a short visit, we herded bees and cats and authors. As related in this very blog, there was a frosting-the-Scalzi ceremony, based on a twitter bet. Kyle Cassidy made a gorgeous spooky poster out of the bet session, and they have now arrived in the treehouse.

Photobucket

We will be shipping them out this week. The proceeds go for a good cause, rescuing kitties and helping authors. FIND THEM HERE & THEY ARE ONLY TEN BUCKS!

behind the scenes, at the photoshoot:

here is @Fablor with her team of fearless rollerpeoples:

me n' Neil:

Photobucket

here is Drew with sweetheart Coconut, just before he got the call that put him back out on the road.

Photobucket

Drew left on tour as soon as we got home, the very next morning. We found out that he had a few days off in San Francisco, so I flew up to see him.

Photobucket

he's wearing his "Make Good Art" warmy fleecy hat, we still have a few of them left HERE.

Flew back from San Francisco, in time to fly to DC to take my parents to see Neil get his Mason Award. Backstage shot of him pre-signing the stacks, with volunteer Greg.

Photobucket

Before the award presentation, he spoke from the heart on writing, reading, supporting libraries, and Doctor WHO. He read from his shiny-penny-new manuscript The Ocean at the End of the Lane. (TELL ME: what DID happen to the kitten!?!) After a revealing Q&A session, he told a story that I honestly keep reviewing in my head, a scary story, a monster-y story, a click-clack story. Damn, he's good.

Danth Guyth was there, always so good to see that man, we ever-so-briefly chatted on the Fiddlers Green2 specs, also Neverwear website. (much work there to be done on both fronts) I also got to meet the father-in-law, Amanda's dad, what a doll.

Photobucket

As we left, I stopped my beloved parents on the stage for a photo.

Photobucket Timing is everything, I also attending the wedding of dear friends from my touring life at a pheasant farm in Amish country, PA. Just as the ceremony began, I took this little film of a perfectly timed flying V of birds right over our heads...

tomorrow, I see Husband at Meriweather Post for lunch with my brother & parents. Life is so good.
